If you’re looking for a Thriller that you can’t put down then this is definitley it.
The Chain House by J. H. Markert gets right into it and most of the plot happens within a single, tense day full of action, suspense, threats, and secrets. The stakes? Only the world order as we know it.
Our protagonist, Sam Harper, is in over his head when he gets to interview scheming cult-leader Sal Batise. From the very beginning it is clear that the death row inmate is the one who really holds all the cards and manipulates everyone around him. We can see that, but we don’t know what he has up his sleeves and Batise, as well as the investigations of our other protagonists, leads us deeper into a web of crime and conspiracy.
The Chain House paces the plot along perfectly with never a dull moment to spoil the flow of the story as it all builds up to the big finish.
